I looked down at my calendar today and realized we're in the last month of summer. How is that possible? I guess it's because we're not kids anymore, and we don't have the luxury of lounging around, breathing in salty ocean water or riding bikes aimlessly. When I was a kid, I remember every day was a new adventure where my friends and I made up new excursions and stories. The days of the working world seem to blur together endlessly, and I'm going to do my best to enjoy the sunshine until chill enters the air.
I've started going for short walks on my lunch hour, trying my best to pay attention to my surroundings and snapping pics of anything interesting.
What I do appreciate right now is what a cool office I work in (it's in Old Town Pasadena). My office building is located in a historic building (called the "Royal Laundry") that used to be a commercial laundry plant. Built in 1922, it's now on the National Register of Historic Places.
The section of Pasadena that we're located in was an industrial area in the 1920's-40's, so much of the architecture consists of old brick warehouses and laundromats.
